CELEBRATING SUCCESS

Two of our young pipers achieved success at the weekend in the Arbroath and District muic festival association – piping and drumming competition. Sarah Douglas (11yrs) won the 14 and under practice chanter competition and Calum Brown (11 yrs) achieved two 3rds in solo piping. Well done to them both, we are very proud of you!

CEILIDH EVENING

We held a hugely successful ceilidh evening on Saturday 12th March, 2011. We raised approximately £3,200 which will help us pay for transport to competitions this year.

Due to the size of our bands now, we also require to purchase uniform and equipment so fundraising will be ongoing with the Playathon, Culter Gala in May and a Jumble Sale planned for September 17th, 2010 in the Mill Club.

NORTH OF SCOTLAND SCHOOLS FESTIVAL

CONGRATULATIONS to three of our band members who were successful at the Regional Robert Burns Festival held on 6th March at Cults School. John Polson and Scott Middleton were awarded 1st and 3rd respectively in the senior age group and Calum Brown, last years National Winner, also achieved a 1st in his the primary age group. John and Calum now go forward to the National Finals in Lanark during the month of April. Well done to them all and good luck to the boys for the final.
